The department boasts of an excellent infra-structure with aesthetically landscaped large lush green gardens that surround the building and provide a serene eco-friendly environment for the students. Separate UG and PG classrooms, fully equipped laboratories with latest state-of-the-art equipments, Central Instrumental Facility, Research laboratory, a separate Autoclave Zone, Inoculation facility and a Culture room impart rich theoretical knowledge along with hands on practical training in plant biotechnology, molecular biology, microbiology and other related fields to the students. The Departmental library owns a large collection of selected books and scientific literature which includes 2500 reference and text books covering almost all the fields of Biotechnology, as well as National and International Journals . The Wi-Fi department has a well equipped computer laboratory with more than twenty computers with high speed internet facility. Besides this, the department also has a fully air-conditioned conference room, a smart class room, separate parking zone for students, scientist gallery, clean and filtered drinking water facilities etc. Department also boasts of its own Pantry, Cafeteria and Recreation zone. The recreation zone not only provides indoor games facilities such as Chess, Carom, Scrabble etc., but also has a poster gallery where students can display their creativity.

The major equipments available in the department include: Laminar Flow Clean Air Benches, Refrigerated Centrifuges, Spectrophotometer, Electrophoresis systems, Trans-illuminators, pH Meters, PCR Machine, Ice - Flaking Machine, Speed Vac Sample Concentrator, Electrical Balances, Autoclaves, Deep Freezers, Refrigerators, BOD Incubators, Gel Rocker, Magnetic Stirrer/s, Water Baths, Dry Bath, Distillation Units, Glass Bead Sterilizers, Ovens, Incubators, Membrane Filtration Units etc. The Central Instrumentation Lab is also equipped with the most sophisticated instruments like Gel Documentation System, Phase Contrast Microscope and CO₂ incubator etc.
